Chris von Wangenheim was a German fashion photographer of the late 1960s through the early 1980s.

In 1965, he left Germany and moved to New York City. He worked for top fashion magazines Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. ~source Wikipedia

Chris von Wangenheim loved experimenting with new ideas of American beauty. He enjoyed putting a spotlight on models who fell outside the conventionally beautiful Ford mold. Gia Carangi was one of his absolute favorite models to work with. Gia, a devastatingly beautiful young woman, became one of von Wangenheim's most photographed subjects no only because of her outer beauty, but at in part for her real-life persona.
