Hot tips: 1,000 fashion & beauty tricks.

Hardcover – January 1, 1981
by Frances Patiky Stein

Hot Tips author, Frances Stein, as Vogue Fashion Editor was in charge of the 10 day Florida shoot with John Stember and Gia. By the end of the trip, Frances was so pissed off with Gia that she decided that they were leaving without her.  Gia had no money, and no ticket, and they were in Florida.  Stember was ordered to “Drive, drive, drive”.   He sees Gia in the rearview mirror with her case in her hand, running behind the van, all white in the face.  Stember stops the van, Gia opens the door, then Frances and Gia are rolling out of the van, punching each other.  They literally got into a fistfight.      ~John Stember, Thing of Beauty

When Stan heard about Gia’s death, he crumpled up the last photo above and threw it in the trash, he was so angry with her for doing drugs. Stan finished this fabulous photographic scrapbook on June 9, 2010 and sent it off to the publisher. the night before he died.
