Makeup Artist: Most likely Joey Mills. He was Demarchelier’s primary beauty collaborator during mid-1979 (such as their U.S. Vogue cover that same month) and famously defined Brooke Shields’ look for her definitive Calvin Klein campaigns. Another strong possibility for her bright, dramatic eye contour during this era is Way Bandy, the celebrity makeup pioneer who designed the iconic “draping” blush technique seen here.

Highlighting the overlapping cross V-neckline, kimono-style at the front, is the distinctiveness of the striped print with highly accentuated floral inserts. The waist is tightened by a ribbon belt, and the sleeves are very wide, starting practically from the hips.
