Gia Carangi supermodel. Bloomingdales Anne Klein Ad. Patrick Demarchelier photographer, Meryl Shaw stylist, Richard Martino creative director, Fred J. DeVito Art Director. Donna Karan and Louis Dell'Ollio were the head designers at Anne Klein at this time.
Fred J. DeVito: “Gia was the only model on this shoot. She was in a happy mood and during the down time she spoke about last Thursday night. Saying she had a great night starting with friends at dinner, then going to Hurrah for a little while, and then off to Studio 54 dancing all night. She was glad she had the next day off. She was professional, friendly, and enjoyed the day.”

“The reason I included the Cat was because the sweater was angora made from the hair of angora goats. So, a blue Turkish angora cat was cast to accent and give a feel of the texture of sweater. Inspired by the Cat I wanted to create a semi-surreal set which included the wall panel, incandescent light, and the silver lama fabric on the floor. Gia wore shades of purple. The skirt and shoes were suede. This was the image for the Bloomingdale’s ad which I believe ran in Vogue and W. in 1979. The actual ad had merchandise copy, logo, and other store information.” ~ Fred J. DeVito
