Then and Now.
Bill Friedman was born and raised in the East New York section of Brooklyn.
He studied photo illustration under Charles Arnold at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In the early 1970’s he assisted Emerick Bronson for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen Magazines.
These are Gia’s first test shots after signing with Wilhelmina.

Male posing with Gia is not a model. His name is Berky, he was Maurice Tannenbaum’s Assistant. Berky and Gia got along well and were very playful together. They had done tests with Maurice Tennenbaum in 1977 in Philadelphia.
Friedman opened his own Bleecker Street studio in the Spring of 1976 testing for Wilhelmina, Stewart, Stone, Ford and Zoli Modeling Agencies.
During the next few years Friedman had the opportunity to photograph all the new talent entering the business.
